SheLeads Grant

This grant is to support young women between the age of 16 and 25 in obtaining a coaching qualification in any sport of their choice.

This grant offers up to £200 per applicant to cover all, or part of a sports coaching qualification.

Who can apply

This grant is available to young women living in Surrey Heath who are aged 16 to 25.

Application process

  • Applicants must apply through a Surrey Heath based Sports Club, with grant money being released to the treasurer of the chosen sports club.
  • The grant payment can be used for a contribution towards a coaching course only.
  • Applicants must provide proof of attendance on the course within 6 months of application, this can be a certification or a booking confirmation.
  • If no proof of attendance has been provided Surrey Heath Borough Council reserves the right to reclaim the awarded grant monies.

How to apply

The first step is to contact the sports club that will support the administration of this application. Once the sports club has confirmed that they will support this application, the applicant will need to complete the SheLeads application form.

If the application is successful SHBC will release the grant money to the club treasurer which is to be used to contribute towards the cost of a coaching qualification course. Responsibility for the booking of the course is on the chosen sports club. If no proof of attendance to the course has been provided within six months of the application being accepted, Surrey Heath Borough Council reserves the right to reclaim the awarded grant monies from the sports club.

Please note that this is a one-off grant, applicants cannot reapply following a successful application.

Data processing

When you apply to the SheLeads grant, the information you provide on the registration form will be processed by the Council for the purpose of managing the scheme. The Council will ensure that the information is securely managed and only shared where there is a lawful basis.
