WeLead Grant

This grant is to support young people between the age of 16 and 25 in obtaining a coaching qualification in any sport of their choice.

This grant offers up to £200 per applicant to cover all, or part of a sports coaching qualification.

Who can apply

This grant is available to young people living in Surrey Heath who are aged 16 to 25.

Application process

  • Applicants must apply through a Surrey Heath based Sports Club, with grant money being released to the treasurer of the chosen sports club.
  • The grant payment can be used for a contribution towards a coaching course only.
  • Applicants must provide proof of attendance on the course within 6 months of application, this can be a certification or a booking confirmation.
  • If no proof of attendance has been provided Surrey Heath Borough Council reserves the right to reclaim the awarded grant monies.

Data processing

When you apply to the WeLead grant, the information you provide on the registration form will be processed by the Council for the purpose of managing the scheme. The Council will ensure that the information is securely managed and only shared where there is a lawful basis.
